Merchant Park is a 65-acre development at Aycliffe Business Park on J59 of the A1(M). Home to one of the largest inward investment manufacturing developments in recent years – the Hitachi Rail Europe’s 30-acre train manufacturing facility, which opened in September 2015. A £90m project delivered by Merchant Anglo, Rokeby has been appointed as development manager to progress the second phase of this business park.
Merchant Park is targeting development of the remaining 25 acres (10.12 ha).
Current work includes:
- Completion of Station Place. 50,000 sqft of started units pre-let to Durham County Council and sold to Waypoint [Capital Managers] Ltd. Work completed in Autumn 2022.
- Sales to Durham Animal Feeds for a 30,000 sqft warehouse and a 5-acre sale to Fornax.
- Plot 3 – 268,000 sqft of speculative warehousing.
