The original Downings Malthouse was constructed in 1876 and subsequently extended by three additional buildings. The buildings had become very derelict and initial enabling works were carried out in March 2020. A subsequent planning consent was granted in July 2023 to form 49 new apartments within the building.
Work is anticipated to commence in late Summer 2025 with a phased completion of units between Summer and December 2026.
